A dream to open a boarding Adventist school in Battambang, Cambodia, has existed since 2015. The plan is to build a school that will serve students in grades 7 through 12. However, a lady named Miranda Lundby came over there as a student missionary a few years ago, and she felt called to start the project, so she started preparing.  Finding a school that corresponds to the values of our youth and allows them to take the Sabbath off is challenging for the few Adventist students here. She discovered some young people eager to teach at the school.

Miranda Lundby and the team she named Eternity Builders spent the first year of 2019 seeking God's will for Cambodia. After a year of searching for land, they located a beautiful parcel of land 43 km southwest of Battambang. Within three weeks, a purchase agreement had been negotiated and initial payment made. By the end of March 2019 the land was completely paid off, thanks to a very generous donor. In February 2019 God provided us with the opportunity to swap out our unreliable vehicle for a newer and cheaper Toyota Tacoma. The Howell family prepared throughout 2019 to join the Cambodia Adventist Academy project. They arrived in January 2020, officially joining the ranks in Battambang. We are also ever grateful for our local Cambodian missionaries.
